About Add Line Numbers

The Add Line Numbers tool places incremental numbering at the start of each line. Use it to organize lists, label code blocks, create ordered datasets, or prepare content for documentation and reviews.

Example

Input:
Apple
Banana
Mango

Options: Start = 1, Step = 1, Separator = “. “, Pad numbers = yes (2 digits)

Output:
01. Apple
02. Banana
03. Mango

How to use it

  • Step 1: Paste or type your lines into the input box.
  • Step 2: Choose a starting number and step increment.
  • Step 3: Set a separator (for example “. ” or ” – “).
  • Step 4: (Optional) Enable padding to align numbers visually.
  • Step 5: Click Add Line Numbers and copy the result.
